About me
I grew up between Germany and New Zealand, which gave me a pretty interesting mix of influences. Germany gave me an appreciation for history, structure and things built to last. New Zealand gave me a love for simplicity, natural beauty and a slightly more relaxed way of doing things.
Somewhere along the way, that became how I see design too.
I’ve never been particularly interested in making things look good for the sake of it. I want to know what makes a business tick, what makes it different and what people should understand about it.
That’s where the best ideas usually come from.
I’ve spent the last seven years working in design across agencies, in-house teams and my own studio, backed by a Bachelor of Graphic Design and a fine arts background that started long before university.
I started ROEN because I wanted to work differently. To stay personally involved, take the time to find the right idea and build brands that feel like the business behind them.
